B :“MELCHIOR” le Roi mage occidental qui d'après la tradition chrétienne et ésotérique représente l'Occident, il incarne la Royauté du Christ et apporte l'Or. Pièce unique en parfait état d'origine. H 66 cm. Globe doré en bois sculpté. Superbe costume d'origine avec son support et présenté dans une bois en cartonnage de la maison Lenci. (circa 1925/1929) “Melchiorre” , WISE MAN with black cloak This king as per the tradition should be the one with an European physiognomy . As per Gaspare, the Lenci interpretation gives him a white beard and dress him with a majestic long garment . The colours chosen for his dress are red blue and light blue framed with gold thread, pearls and pailettes.  He carries in a gold wooden vessel the myrrh , element used for the corpse, and symbolising the expiation of the sin through the death. This model (26” ) is dated 1925/29 and published on the some books about the Lenci dolls, but never on the market.
