Set of 3 autograph letters signed: -autograph letter signed addressed to "My dear and illustrious Master". November 11, 1864, 1 page in-8°. He asks his correspondent where to find the beautiful thought of Cicero, which he quotes in Latin. "I do not know of a complete index of Cicero: does one exist? I allow myself to resort to you. On the back the answer of the Master in black pencil. -Autograph letter signed. October 14, 1864; 1 page in-8°. "I expected no less from your science and your kindness. Here I am equipped and I would have the learned air. Marais has slightly diverted the meaning of the quotation as it is often done, and if the meaning remains beautiful, this little bend becomes almost legitimate." -Autograph letter signed. 26 May 1869; 1 page in-12. "Do you know, my dear friend, that you are invited to my house for dinner on Tuesday, June 1st? You will certainly give me this pleasure. It is Mrs. Marie Lass who invites you. I am only the master of the guinguette, a slightly sad butler, but let your presence rejuvenate."
