The King speaks about the loss of a loved one. "All that you say to me on the occasion of such a disastrous event that my extreme pain does not dare me the feelings of my most vyve recognoissance which I owe to your memory which is very consoling to me by seeing you take part in what touches me. It is a loss that all reason will never cease to regret. - Autograph letter signed "Stanislas Roy", addressed to the bishop of Metz. October 21, 1756; 1 page in-4°. He makes a great protest of friendship to him, nothing being more painful to him than not being able to give satisfaction to the bishop. I deserve to be so every time that I do not have the pleasure to see you and all the more by the cause which has caused me the incomodity of your flexion which gives me anxiety, If the journey has not worsened it, I give you a thousand thanks for all that you wish me at the beginning of this year.
