LABOUREUR Jean-Émile [Nantes, 1877 - Penestin,... - Lot 117 - Varenne Enchères
LABOUREUR Jean-Émile [Nantes, 1877 - Penestin, 1943], French engraver. Set of 2 autograph letters signed: - autograph letter signed. Kerfalher, July 25 [19]29; 2 pages in-8°. "It is unfortunate that the financial squeeze does not allow me a prolonged stay in the Southwest. We are traveling (back) as a foursome (my wife, my oldest son, my great nephew and I) [...] For the part that interests you I will be in Pau on the 4th and 5th of August in Bayonne and in the region (I will linger there for another 24 hours) on Tuesday, the 6th of August I will go back to Bordeaux and will be able to make very easily the hook of Angoumé (which is on the Michelin map) if you find yourself there. - Autograph letter signed on blue paper. Kerfalher, October 2 [19]25; 2 pages in-8. "I hope that the difficulties you have encountered with R. Alland have been smoothed out. No doubt you will soon have from him the two new plates of the "Language of Flowers". The second plate in color was completed just before my departure from Paris and Vernant should now have the final proof for this plate (which seems to me quite successful) and for the second plate in black.
